In January 1997 a new Code of Practice for the provision of first aid in the work place was revised and became effective in March 1997.

The employer through risk assessment of the work place, having regard to the nature of the undertaking, the number of employees at work and the location of the establishment must determine the number, contents and location of first aid kits.

First Aid containers should be examined on a regular basis and re-stocked as soon as possible after use. Sufficient supplies should be held in a back-up stock site. Care should be taken to discard items Safely after the expiry date has passed.

It should be noted that when employees are working away from the employer's establishment it is still the employer's responsibility to provide adequate first aid commensurate with the hazards involved.

Our HSE range of First Aid Kits and Refills comply with the Health & Safety guidelines and the approved code of practice (ACOP L74).
